Ingredients
4 cups preheated water
1 ½ cup Lentil peas
½ cup carrot diced
1 medium potatoe
¼ cup garlic chopped
½ cup celery chopped
2 Tbsp chicken bouillon
1 Tbsp onion powder
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp oregano
½ tsp black pepper
2 cloves
3 stems thyme
1 Tbsp Italian herb seasoning
1Tbsp tomato paste
Add at end of process if extra seasoning is needed:
1 pack Sazon seasoning
Instructions
Cook time: 30-35min on medium heat
1. Add oil to cover the bottom of pot. Once heated, Sautee onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic.
2. Then add prewashed lentil peas and stir for 1-2min.
3. Add black pepper, Italian seasoning, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, cloves, chicken bouillon and stir thoroughly.
4. Then add 4 cups water and stir. Add thyme and bay leaves, stir, and add pot cover.
5. Cook for 15-20min, remove pot cover, and check lentil for tenderness. Liquide will be reduced. After 15-20min, add carrot, potatoes, tomato paste, and an additional 1 cup of water for 10 minutes or until tender.
6. Check for flavor/ saltiness, add pack of Sazon and complete seasoning.
